Profile

I enjoy assembling words into an order that’s both captivating and motivating. I love solving problems. I love to express myself creatively. I think I ended up in the right line of work. Hope you agree.

Experience

Freelance copywriter, self employed; Los Angeles, Ca — 2017-present

Conceived and wrote multiple online campaigns and communications for various clients including Yahoo News/Sports/Fantasy/Finance, Charles Schwab, Capital One, Tres Agaves Tequila, Jelly Belly, Ike’s Sandwiches and Sojern Travel Marketing (among others).

Spinal cord injury sufferer/recoverer; San Francisco, Ca — 2016-2017

An unfortunate mountain biking injury on Jan 2, 2016 resulted in (thankfully) temporary paralysis and an arduous trek back to normal functioning and mobility. While I was not paid for my work (quite the opposite, actually), the life experience I gained was invaluable. I learned important and meaningful lessons about myself, my capabilities, and how those things inform my writing and creativity.

Director, More Media & Joinery Films; Los Angeles, Ca — 2013-2016

As one half of a directing team known as Only Child, I directed online and television commercials for a wide array of clients, including but not limited to: Bud Light, Canon, Honda, Gillette, Clorox.

Associate creative director, DDB; San Francisco, Ca — 2003-2013

Created, wrote and produced multi-faceted campaigns for The Clorox Company (Kingsford Charcoal, KC Masterpiece, Tilex), ConAgra Foods (Healthy Choice, RO*TEL, Reddi-Wip), ESPN International, Greenpeace, Benefit Cosmetics and many others.

Senior copywriter, the Leo Burnett Company; Chicago, Il  — 1996-2003

Wrote, produced and conceived of wide-ranging print and television communications for clients such as: Nintendo of America, Heinz Ketchup, The Kellogg’s Company, Keebler (Cheez-It, not the elves), Delta Airlines, and Coca-Cola.
